Meet Your Board Members
Ava T. (PRESIDENT): is studying Earth & Environmental Sciences and Anthropology at the University of Michigan. After taking up running sports in high school, she began practicing yoga to find a healthier physical balance. However, Ava quickly became enamored with the spiritual aspects of yoga too and has since completed her RYT 200-hour training through aUM (2022). She loves the simple joys in life like a hot cup of tea, sunshine through a window, the smooth surface of a new pint of ice cream, and yoga (of course)! Ava is thrilled to use her platform at aUM to bring smiles and uplift those around her.
Ellen P. (E-Board): is studying Computer Science at the University of Michigan. She enjoys doing yoga to relax and destress from school. She likes doing yoga through MYC for the close-knit community it has created. Outside of yoga, she enjoys baking, being in nature, and hanging out with her friends.
Janine H. (Ambassador): is a freshman studying Communications and Media at the University of Michigan. After being a four-sport Varsity athlete in high school and constantly working out, she decided she wanted to try something new that could keep her healthy both physically and mentally. For Janine, yoga is a great way to stay in shape and practice mindfulness; this is especially important when school and social life become stressful and overwhelming. It is a great way to forget the worries of your day and to become in tune with your body and your mind. Outside of yoga, Janine loves to travel all across the world to different countries and continents, have picnics or dinner dates with friends, and stay active (whether working out or going on adventures). Janine is excited to help others have a positive experience at aUM.
Reese O. (E-Board): is studying Environmental Studies at the University of Michigan. She began yoga after ending her time as a competitive dancer, hoping to maintain flexibility and range of motion while finding movement in new ways. In her free time, you can find Reese listening to lots of music, reading a good book, or enjoying some time outdoors.
Zikun W. (Ambassador): is a senior in mechanical engineering with a CS minor at the University of Michigan. Outside of school, he likes to stay active through intramural sports, working out at the gym, and yoga! Since his first MYC mass meeting, Zikun knew that yoga would be the perfect way to decompress and practice mindfulness after a long week. A good yoga class challenges your flexibility and endurance but is always extremely rewarding - nothing beats that post-session glow! Beyond yoga, Zikun loves to meal-prep and cook, with go-to favorites like overnight oats and chili-spiced chicken! Excited to share his passion for both yoga and a balanced lifestyle, Zikun looks forward to contributing to MYC's welcoming community!
