Here, you'll wake to the sounds of tropical birds, practice in an open-air ocean view yoga shala, and spend your days immersed in experiences that nourish body, mind, and spirit.
A Day in the Life
Our retreat combines movement, mindfulness, adventure, and rest. Each day begins with yoga in the ocean-view shala, fully equipped with mats, blocks, and props, followed by wholesome chef-prepared meals crafted with fresh local ingredients. Retreat pricing includes several unforgettable excursions and cultural experiences led by knowledgeable local guides. Learn to ride the waves during a surf lesson on Puerto Escondido's iconic coastline, participate in a heart-opening cacao ceremony, witness the magic of the bioluminescent lagoon as it comes alive after dark, and take part in a turtle release supporting local conservation efforts. These experiences offer a deeper connection to the land, culture, and natural wonders that make Oaxaca's coast so extraordinary.

Puerto Escondido International Airport PXM
  • Puerto Escondido International Airport is the closest airport to Barbarenas and is located just 15–20 minutes from the retreat center by taxi.
  • We highly recommend flying directly into Puerto Escondido for the most seamless travel experience. The airport offers daily direct flights from both Mexico City and Oaxaca City, making it easily accessible from major international gateways.
  • Upon arrival, taxis are readily available outside the airport terminal. The ride to Barbarenas typically costs approximately 200–250 MXN ($10–15 USD), and we are happy to assist with transportation recommendations prior to your arrival.
Oaxaca International Airport OAX
  • For those wishing to extend their journey and experience more of Oaxaca, flying into Oaxaca International Airport (OAX) is another excellent option. Located in Oaxaca City, the airport is approximately 3–4 hours by car or shuttle, or 6–7 hours by bus, from Puerto Escondido.
  • Oaxaca City is renowned for its vibrant culture, world-class cuisine, colorful markets, and rich artistic traditions, making it a wonderful destination to explore before or after the retreat.
  • From Oaxaca City, you may choose to take a short domestic flight to Puerto Escondido or travel by car along the scenic mountain route to the coast.
